Columbia Athenaeum Progress Report Regarding Lizzie Williams
The Columbia Athenaeum created this progress report for the information of Lizzie Williams' parent or guardian in November of 1873. Williams had been studying history, elocution, dictation, composition, arithmetic, algebra, natural philosophy, geology and mineralogy, piano, penmanship, and art. The report's reverse bears an advertisement for the school.

D. H. Bales Papers
This collection contains papers relating to schools in Jefferson County, Tennessee between 1895-1922. D. H. Bales, former clerk of school district 6 Jefferson County, is addressed in many of these papers, along with several superintendents. This collection includes letters, a report of school directors to the county superintendent, daily schedule and exam questions for elementary students, and various other papers pertaining to schools in this area.

This journal outlines the proceedings of the trustees of the Knoxville Female Academy (later the East Tennessee Female Institute) from 1827 to 1907.
Edith Louise Ross Graduate Books Collection
This is a collection consisting of graduation memorabilia for Park City High School of Knoxville, Tennessee and graduate Edith Louise Ross from 1910. It includes two graduation books, a photograph, and a flag.
Eunice Susan (E. S.) Merrill Letters
This collection contains two letters from Eunice Susan (E. S.) Merrill to her brother Theodore Merrill, both written while she was attending the East Tennessee Female Institute in Knoxville, Tenn., around 1848. They each describe her days at school and transportation of the day.

This collection consists of committee meeting notes about building decisions, articles on the history of the school, and land indentures related to Farragut High School.
Frazier Harris Typescript, Vocational Counseling
This collection consists mainly of an undated, bound typescript titled Vocational Counseling by Frazier Harris.
Grindstaff's School-House Charter
The hand-written document from 1881 is a charter for Grindstaff’s School-House in Blount County, TN. Signed by the Secretary of State for Tennessee, David A. Nunn (1833-1918), the charter or legal contract between “The Corporation” and the school-house detailed the rules and regulations of their cooperation.
H. L. Rich Letter to Horace Thomson
This collection contains a letter from H. L. Rich in East Tennessee to Horace Thomson in Farmington, Connecticut. The letter is dated July 7, 1834. Rich asks Thomson and other old friends from Connecticut to continue to supply Rich's Sabbath School with supplies, such as school books, as well as monetary donations.
Isabella M. White Diploma
This diploma certifies that the East Tennessee Female Institute conferred the degree of Mistress of Polite Literature on Isabella M. White on July 25, 1850.
Isabella Reed Boyd Diploma
This diploma certifies that the East Tennessee Female Institute conferred the degree of Mistress of Polite Literature on Isabella Reed Boyd on July 29, 1847.
James K. P. Sayler Papers
The James K. P. Sayler Papers, 1857-1943, contain correspondence, writings and speeches, bills, contracts, and other papers related to the life of Sayler, a Confederate soldier stationed in Vicksburg, MS, during the Civil War and a teacher Romeo, Tenn. Among the topics discussed are pre-Civil War politics (particularly in Missouri), military life and movement during the war, and educational and religious theory.

John H. Bills Letter
This collection consists of a single letter and account summary from James H. Bills to David A. Deaderick of East Tennessee College.
John Ruhm Letter
Written December 23, 1869 from Nashville, John Ruhm's letter to General George H. Thomas describes the state of affairs in Tennessee after the Democrats regained control of the general assembly. Ruhm argues that the current Legislature is only working to undo the work of the Reconstruction-era Republicans.
Julia Ann McNeill Journal
The journal contains a series of handwritten essays signed by three different writers. The last pages are full of songs, bits of songs and poetry from the contemporary period.
Julia Isabel Ramsay Diplomas
This collection consists of three diplomas that belonged to Julia Isabel Ramsay during her years at the University of Tennessee, Greeneville and Tusculum College, and Washington and Tusculum College within the years 1905-1913.
